Pennsylvania (PA) Waterfalls

One of my grandsons, while looking down on Pennsylvania from 30,000 feet, said: "It looks like green goose bumps." I could not have described it better. The plethora of mountain ranges, speckled with small lakes reflecting the sun like diamonds, hide the wonderful maze of springs, swamps and brooks and their many waterfalls. Most waterfalls in eastern Pennsylvania are cascades presenting a brief obstacle course to the water on its way to the Delaware River. Many of these waterfalls are very accessible, either from the adjacent highways or short, relatively easy trails. Almost all of these waterfalls have much history behind them - a great opportunity for history buffs - or the curious.
